Hey everyone!

We're planning on doing a writer's roundtable chat show to discuss the process and creation of the Wormwood Portraits! So, if you have any questions you want answered, please ask us here, and we'll try to answer them on the show!

First off, David and crew, excellent job!  I really enjoyed Portraits, even for a few characters I didn't expect I would.

The writing style for these really seemed to push the limits of what audio/radio dramas typically done.  For instance, the use of flashbacks, rapidly shifting back and forth between time frames, as well as The Lover's Tale which had the baffling start of sounding like a flashback, but involving characters who didn't know each other previous to the first episode.  Was this the work of the staff growing more comfortable in working with the series, or more of an experiment given that these would be a series of self-contained tales (or a natural progression in working with an individual character's narrative)?

Was Jonsey always intended to have been this character, or was it just an opportune time and way to weave him deeper into the narrative?  Same goes for all the characters, actually.

Was the intention to keep the main narrative "on-hold" for the most part?

Were there any characters you wanted to get to but for whatever reason (lack of story, actor availability, lack of time) you couldn't get to?

I'm planning to zoom in with a few last minute questions later today.
I've had some distracting family business..
I have also been re listening to a few eps and, damn, if I'm not discovering several things that I previously missed.
One thing I've discovered is that I think we miss many little details the first time around....and even more I discover if we have an accompanying pdf.

I didn't see that last episode coming!!

A few questions for now..
What realm do Crowe and Sparrow now exist in?
Where did Rachael go?
Are we going to find out what happened to everyone else that survived.?
And is Jonesy the only answer... because he somehow seems an unreliable source and solution?
although I like that Jacob was only a carrier...

Who the devil is Arthur Russell?

I definitely have to listen to several episodes one more time..especially "The Lovers Tale". That one has me confused a bit.

Everyone has a reprieve! We had to postpone the writers' chat, so you have THIS WEEK to continue to post your questions for us right here! Yay!

Don't know if it's too late, but here are some questions:

What lessons have you learned, regarding audio entertainment/storytelling since you first started producing Wormwood? What sage advice do you have for the aspiring podomancer?

We've had a Peter Lorre voice, a Mr. Guttman voice (I forget that actor's name), and a Sean Connery voice. Are there any other iconic voice allusions you'd like to have in the mix (Vincent Price comes to mind)?

How did the NaNoWriMo madness go for you folks this year? Details!

If you were a sentient virus, what would your symptoms be?

As a counter-statement to a previous question: I'm not sure I want to know who Arthur Russell is.  I don't have Santa Clause, anymore.  I don't have the Easter Bunny.  They were all sacrificed on the bloody altar of adulthood.  I didn't even have a monster under my bed growing up (I had a water bed and thus...no under-bed space).  All I have is Arthur Russell, the last mystery.  Don't take that away!  Now, far be it from me to shut down another listener's question, so if you must answer, simply provide a proper alarm and Spoiler Alert so that I can close my ears and go off to my dark, happy place.

Thank you.

Thanks for all the awesome questions, folks! We answered 'em all last night, and that podcast should drop sometime later this week. WE might even have to break it into two episodes because the recording itself ran almost two hours. Smiley

Another important reason to break the podcast into two installments: The infrasound we embed into all of our audio files will be too much for one sitting. I'm not cleaning up that mess!
